The MVV Energie CZ Group has contractually secured gas supplies for 2023, and will thus increase heat prices by only tens of percent
Heating plants from the MVV Energie CZ energy group, which provide heat for 70,000 households and hundreds of companies and organizations, are to increase heat prices next year by between 12 and 60%, depending on the fuel used. Prices will increase only in the order of tens of percent, even though resource prices , especially gas, have increased by an order of magnitude more. The price increase for end customers will take effect from 1 January 2023.
Heating plants from the MVV Energie CZ group, burning mainly gas, are located in Česká Lípa, Děčín, Louny, Opava, Studénka and Vsetín. Here, starting next year, heat prices will increase by 30-60%. The biomass-burning heating plant in Pelhřimov will increase the price of heat by 29% and the Liberec heating plant will increase its prices by 36%. In Litoměřice, Mimoni and Uherské Hradiště, where the main fuel is coal (in Litoměřice with a share of biomass), prices will increase between 12 and 40%. Jörg Lüdorf, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MVV Energie CZ a.s., adds concerning the increase: " We had to raise prices due to the situation on the energy market. Thanks to our long-term strategy of resource diversification, and the contractual provision of gas supplies for the entire year 2023, heat prices in our entire group will only increase by tens of percent, which I consider a success. This confirms that central heat suppliers are able to reliably provide heat supplies at the most favorable possible prices even in challenging times." Group companies will inform their customers on how much the price will change in individual locations in the first half of December.
The MVV Energie CZ energy group consists of fifteen companies with activities in fifteen cities of the Czech Republic. The parent company is MVV Energie CZ as, which was founded in October 1993 and since 1999 has been a subsidiary of the German energy concern MVV Energie, headquartered in Mannheim, Germany.
