We rely on renewable energy and continue to increase our distribution system efficiency

"The long-term partnership with our customers has been another success over the recent period. The Housing cooperative association in Česká Lípa has become a shareholder of our heating plant, which has given us confidence in the central heat supply," says Jörg Lüdorf, Chairman of the Board of Directors, commenting on one of the MVV Group's milestones in 2018. Group-wide investment responds to tightening greenhouse gas requirements and other climate protection measures. The greening and upgrading of energy sources, distribution systems, other production facilities, and also the reduction of coal dependence, is contributing to a significant reduction in SO₂, NO_x, pollutants and CO₂ emissions. "In order to reduce emissions, we will continue to develop renewable, gas and waste production in our portfolio," says Jörg Lüdorf.

Another activity in this area is the extensive so-called "GreenNet" projects that improve the quality of distribution networks with a positive impact both on the environment and costs for end consumers. In Pelhřimov, the old steam pipeline was replaced by a heated water pipeline; in Liberec there will be a modern hot water pipeline.

The management of MVV Energie CZ a.s. also connects to the future, with green heat generation from waste and the strengthening of the electricity segment by supplying directly from the producer to customers through expanding high-efficiency gas-powered cogeneration of heat and power. Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) projects are using smart technologies such as LEDs and energy management implementation to bring new clients to the group, and not only from the municipal sphere.
